Current 8th Students

  • These are recommendations/possibilities and are not mandatory.
  • eSTEM Language Arts Summer Reading Assignment for all incoming 9th graders (TBD).
  • Math 8 Bridge: For Math 8 students who earn a B or better and want to learn the material which will be covered in Integrated Math 1. Students who successfully complete this bridge program (A, B, or C grades) will be recommended by the district to start 9th grade at the Integrated Math 2/2 Enhanced level. This course is through CNUSD.
    • Student's current math teacher and/or the district is the one who recommends the student for this course, not the eSTEM counselor.
    • This course is only suggested by the counselor if the student is relatively strong in math. Otherwise, the jump from Math 8 to Integrated Math 2 may be too big.

Current 9th to 11th Grade Students

Summer Session 1 2022 Dates: June 9 - July 1

Summer Session 2 2022 Dates: July 5 - 27

 AM: 8:30-11:45 AM

PM: 12:15- 3:30 PM

** Parents MUST complete the summer school online registration for the classes to be confirmed! This opens starting on March 1st. The system will delete all summer course requests if this registration is not completed by June 8th. **

Students who failed a core class/semester (F grade) will need to make up that class/semester if the class is offered over the summer. The counselors will also schedule students who earned a D grade in a core class into a summer school class for a chance to earn a better grade in order to be a-g eligible for college. If you think you will fail a second semester class, speak with your counselor by mid-late May to adjust your summer and/or 2022-23 schedule.

Students will take the following course (unless previously noted to your counselor as to why the student cannot take the course over the summer). Making up D/F grades take priority over taking these courses:

Current 9th (mandatory, however extenuating circumstances will be taken into consideration):

  • Health: One semester for graduation requirements. Online course.
  • World History: Students who are in band or in sports will take both 1A and 1B in the summer. Online or in person course.

Current 10th (mandatory, however extenuating circumstances will be taken into consideration):

  • US History: Recommended for band students and athletes. This will be both 1A and 1B in the summer. Online or in person course.

Current 11th (mandatory, however extenuating circumstances will be taken into consideration):

  • Fine Arts: Students attend both A and B which is the equivalent of a full year of art. In person course and art type depends on staffing.
  • If you are in band or have taken a fine art already, we can further discuss your summer school options.

Review these CNUSD Summer School Guidelines.

These courses planned for the summer are required to graduate and/or to fulfill A-G requirements.
