SOPHOMORE YEAR CHECKLIST

Now that you've gotten used to the academics and social aspect of high school, you'll continue with doing well in your classes and participating in extracurricular activities. In addition to that, make sure you do the below:

  • PSAT: You may considering signing up for the PSAT that's administered in October. Many universities stopped using the SAT as an admissions criteria in the years following COVID, but some are requiring it again. The PSAT will give you a good idea of how you may perform in the SAT in spring of 11th grade.
  • CaliforniaColleges.edu: Utilize this website to plan out your next 4 years. There are so many resources available on this site, including a high school timeline, college information, financial aid, scholarships, career inventory, etc.
  • Begin learning about the college admissions process for the colleges you're interested in, whether they are UCs, CSUs, private/out-of-state, or community colleges.

Continue to: explore your interests and potential careers, be involved with extracurricular activities, make sure you're on track for A-G classes, keep your grades up, etc.
